A Symphony Of Praise For IBM Office Suite
InfoWorld has a generally favorable look at IBM’s Lotus Symphony office suite. I’ve been trying it out as well, and I’m impressed with the feature set as well as the modern look-and-feel (sorry, OpenOffice.org). What I’m not impressed with is performance. At the moment, Symphony is a big slow hog. Hopefully, performance issues will be resolved by the time version 1 is available (also free, according to IBM), but the fact that the suite relies on Java and Eclipse to run doesn’t leave me optimistic.
