Christmas Tech For Kids

ez201.jpgChristmas is coming! My daughter wants the RCA EZ201 Small Wonder digital camcorder, available for under $100 from Amazon. It’s small enough for a purse or pocket, takes up to 60 minutes of decent quality video (or more if you expand the memory with an SD card), and seems to be the main competitor of the popular Flip Ultra Camcorder (which costs a little more and doesn’t have an SD slot).

She also wants “lots of Webkinz”. Locally they’re around $14 each plus tax. To save a bit of money, I ordered some from Pamela’s Boutique. Webkinz are just $9.99 each, and you get free shipping on orders over $50 with coupon code “FREE”. It was a painless transaction and speedy processing/delivery. On my order of 6 Webkinz, I saved $24 plus tax. In case you don’t have kids, Webkinz are plush toys that come with a code for a virtual version of the same pet on Webkinz.com, where you have to take care of the critters, take quizzes and play flash games to earn “money”, and hang out with friends. Really cool.

daxterpsp.jpgFor my son, it’s a Sony PSP bundle that includes the Daxter game, a Family Guy video disk, and a 1gb memory card — about $200 at Amazon. Play games, watch movies, listen to music — what’s not to love? We have a Ninteno DS already, but I guess you can never have too many video game consoles.
