I haven’t been paying attention to Windows Live SkyDrive latey, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that Microsoft’s online file storage service is now offering 5GB of free storage. The service if feature-rich and the interface is easy to navigate.

If you’ve got young computer users in the house, you may want to consider content filtering software like K9 Web Protection from Blue Coat. I’m generally opposed to such software on philosophical grounds (plus, it’s really annoying), but it makes a lot of sense for kids. K9 Web Protection is a small download, and it’s easy to set up and administer through a web interface. It seems very effective, and there are plenty of customization options.
